Board of Directors

Melanie Tremills
Melanie Tremills (she/her), the founder and chair, started Prism because she felt the need for a community where 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, especially youth, could connect in the Halton region. She is deeply passionate about creating safe spaces for young people and fostering a community for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Through her work at Prism, Mel received the King Charles III Coronation Medal. She moved to Canada from the UK 18 years ago and now works with children as an educational assistant.

Nina Page
Nina Page (she/her) is a Board Member at Prism. As someone who is passionate about equality for all, Nina joined Prism to align her actions with her religious conviction. She is an ordained Deacon in the Anglican Church, registered psychotherapist, and currently works as a spiritual care counsellor at a hospice. Nina also was the recipient of the King Charles Coronation Award for work in the community. She is married with two sons and seven grandchildren.

Matthew George
Matthew George (he/him) is in charge of project management, website, and systems at Prism. Matthew joined Prism to help empower members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in 2024. In his professional career, Matthew has had various roles in marketing, digital marketing, SEO, and graphic design. Currently, he is a consultant for an agency. He is also a proud husband of 20 years, pet dad and foster carer.

Brookelynn Dean
Brookelynn Dean (she/her) is Prism’s Event Coordinator, where she organizes events for the community. She joined Prism to engage with her local 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and create meaningful connections in 2023. Brookelynn is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive community that brings people together. She is currently a jewelry sales associate.

Deb Pride
Deb Pride (she/her/they/them) is a Board Member, who also helps with events and odd jobs.
Deb joined Prism to be a voice for her loved ones who identify within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
They have also been a teacher in Halton for almost 20 years and currently runs the Gay Straight Alliance (Free to be Me) club at their school. She is a firm believer in letting people be who they are and love who they love.

Fred Pritchard
Fred Pritchard is the Treasurer for Prism. Fred joined Prism to push back against the rising hate towards the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. He is a retired FCPA, FCGA with over 29 years of experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, property management, and professional services. He is also a passionate volunteer and has helped with the Refugee Information Centre, Toronto Counselling Centre for Gays and Lesbians, and the Toronto LBGTQ Community Appeal. Currently he is also treasurer of a local nonprofit tennis club and is a resident care volunteer at a local hospice.

Hollie Jolicoeur
Hollie (she/her), a Board Member, has been actively involved in the Milton community for over 15 years. She has a strong passion for inclusivity and is committed to helping others. Hollie joined Prism to help the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and foster inclusivity and support for marginalized groups. She has a background in education, training, and advocacy, which makes her well-equipped to make a meaningful impact in her community. As a registered member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 136, and a professional working in the senior service sector, she plays an important role in both local and broader service communities.
